The Groove Catz

The Groove Catz

In January of 1988 the Groove Catz musicians Mark Molter, Shane Culver, Rex Shipplett and Don Molter made their humble start by putting together a jazz saxophone quartet.

The Groove Catz musical styles have changed over the past twenty years as well as their band names. The Groove Catz have also gone by Freeport, The Ballpark Franks, and the Vinyl Kings. The most recent change to the Groove Catz came with the addition of a trumpet player (or adoption as he is the only non family member of the band) and new focus on Blues, Jazz, Funk and other similar styles that highlight the horn section as a vital part of the band’s new sound. The full time horn section has differentiated the Groove Catz from other bands. The new distinctive sound will take them into their third decade of entertaining the Midwest with their musical talents.

Bobby Clark Band

Bobby Clark Band

Bobby Clark is doing what he does best, making great music. Hailing from the outskirts of Evansville, IN, he grew up in the belly of the heartland rock world and the songs live up to the lineage. Bobby has lived the life often sung about in his music. The son of a preacher, a man that has made his living of hard work, someone who has clashed with the law and society, Bobby has a song and opinion about every topic.

A believer in hard work and sweaty Midwestern bar rock, he has honed his craft of writing memorable and catchy rock songs over the years with hundreds of shows under his belt. With a catalog of over 200 songs, he has come to the attention of Midwestern rock lovers nationally and globally as his reviews on Garageband.com prove. Most notably he came to the attention of rocker John Mellencamp who purchased one of his rootsy, rocking songs “Grandview” for a future CD release.

Bobby released a new CD in May 2008 titled "Between You And God". These 16 songs are a mixture of life itself and the stories that follow the experience, and can be related to by anyone.

The live shows are where Bobby’s musical wit and magic come alive. Audiences that see Bobby Clark for the first time come away with a relationship that will last, and the experience of hearing songs that bring out all sides of the adventure we call life.

8 PM to 9:30 PM

Amanda Overmyer

Amanda Overmyer

Amanda Overmyer, driven, ambitious, soulful. Beginning her love for the sounds of classic rock at a young age, she developed a passion and incomparable drive to continue the legacy of Rock artists before her. Influenced heavily by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Seger, CCR and Janis Joplin, she produces a sound true to the roots of Classic and Southern Rock with the infliction of her own unique style and sound. Recently, she appeared on American Idol, and being the first contestant of her genre, still made her way to be one of the top finalists.

With no outside writers or co-writers she developed the new album "Solidify" immediately after the show's end. Recorded amazingly in 9 days, "Solidify" is the product of the grass-roots approach used by many before her, that keeps the spirit of Southern and Classic Rock alive. Down-home is absolutely a word to be used for her and her organization. Starting her own record label, Chile Records, she made the decision to head up the entire operation herself with the help of her producer, Rocco Guarino, of Glendale, CA.

Now, with her band in tow, she is making her way across the states to show America her music and her sound. Priding herself on her live performances, she has received rave reviews of the live show and the album. She is quoted saying "The live show is what it is all about, performing these songs for a crowd is what I dig most, we're coming to "Solidify the Presence of Rock and Roll!". And that, she does.

The Woomblies

The Woomblies

The Woomblies were formed in the fall of 2001 in Indianapolis. Founders Phil Pierle and Paul Holdman joined forces to create a group that explored the classic sounds of Motown and Soul. After acquiring Jamey Reid and Brant Milholland for the rhythm section, the band took off on it’s journey into unexplored music.

Today the Woomblies are a group known for their tight, impressive musicianship and vocal strength. A wide variety of music has crowds dancing to Prince, AC/DC, Johnny Cash and just about everything in between. The group’s lineup has remained unchanged since the early days, and continues to strengthen their popularity and appeal to fans of all ages.

Their 2007 album release of original music transcends the band to the next level of music integrity. Drenched in variety and unique style, the album further acclimates their musical talent. The group while touring, is writing and performing music for their upcoming album to be released early 2009.
